What Causes Premature Tyre Wear — and How to Prevent It

Tyres are a significant expense, and nobody wants to replace them before they need to. Premature tyre wear — tyres wearing out significantly faster than their rated mileage — is a common and preventable problem. Here are the main culprits.

5. Aggressive Driving Style

Hard acceleration (especially from rest), late braking, and fast cornering all generate heat and abrasion that accelerates tyre wear. This is particularly noticeable with performance vehicles and sport-oriented tyres.

Exceeding your vehicle's load capacity — or repeatedly carrying heavy loads — puts excess stress on tyres, generating heat that degrades the rubber faster.
